4 Km wide and 300 m . deep, it is considered as one of the largest inhabited and active volcanic crater in the world. After driving from Mitad del Mundo to the viewpoint of ventanillas at 2800m. we will follow a private path hiking up along medicinal plants to reach impressive viewpoints to see the crater, the Central Andes and the valley of Mitad del Mundo .
